Midnight-Purple Foliage is Crinkled and Fringed! Basil Purple Ruffles won the coveted AAS award for its unusual look. This unique cultivars grows 18 to 24 inches high and wide, remaining quite bushy in habit. The large, shiny, purple-black leaves are fringed and crinkled around the edges. Pick the leaves and use fresh or dried in tomato dishes, pasta sauces, vegetables and soups. You can also use basil in the garden as a companion plant to repel aphids, mites, and tomato hornworms. Grow in a rich, well-drained, soil in full sun.
